Contact — Tour de l'Énergie

Arielle and Claude run away from Paris just before graduation, escaping their choices and responsibilities. Exploring the island of giants, Sardinia, they nostalgically prolong the carefree days of their youth.

When I wrote Contact I needed time, I wanted to escape from the metropolis that eats a lot of human energy, I needed contact with nature, meditation, contemplation, reflection, to recharge myself.

I was also in limbo, I wanted to resume my studies but I didn’t know how to reconcile two opposite sides of my ego: concreteness and abstraction.

This is reflected in the two characters, the male side Claude, studies the most practical subject of all, medicine; the female side Arielle, studies the most abstract, philosophy.

It is reflected in them the need to disconnect from responsibilities, the need for carefreeness, to get closer to themselves, in Contact, the only way is a “tour de l’énergie”.

But there’s something else they can’t get rid of: nostalgia. That’s why they film, photograph, write… they want to capture the moment, immortalize it forever, aware that nothing they see lasts, everything is fleeting.

plus.
Contact,
puissant,
Maintenant
en ce moment.
Chatouille
de Zéphyr.

l’océan.
